My Week Is All Fracked Up

I got all happy today. No my phone didnt vibrate in my pocket.

I was sitting and thought that "Hey tomorrows Friday. Spider Man 3 is out!"
And I proceeded to sing the Spider Man song and get all hyped up. Then I looked at the calander and noticed that it was only the 26th.

My Soundtrack This Week

Fellow Gothamites I will now be giving you a weekly update on a soundtrack that will be befitting of the weeks events and moods.

Contagion has his beer of the week I will have 5 songs that will get you though the week. The 1st weeks selections are as follows:

1. The Beatles- A Day In The Life. Now aside from being like one of the most inspirational songs in history it kinda fits if you have had a bad week. "He blew his mind out in a car"

2. Bob Seger - Night Moves. Now everyone has heard this song and can relate to the song in one way or another. "Working on mysteries without any clues" Nuff said

3. Bruce Springsteen - One Step Up. One of the best feel sorry for yourself breakup songs. You look back and wonder. "Last night I dreamed I held you in my arms the music was never ending" Damn he IS the Boss.

4. Crowded House = Into Temptation. Makes you wonder if what you are doing is right and if the price is worth it. "Sentence is all my own and the price is to watch it fail" Fracked up stuff.

And lastly ya'll an oldie but goodie

5. The Electric Prunes- I Had Too Much To Dream Last Night "I'm not ready to face the light" Like my friend Shadowglare........dreaming is BAD!

Now if I knew a way to link these songs I would but until my Blogstump helps you guys are at your own downloading mercy.

Now this will happen once a week and hopefully will give you insight to different types of music or different styles. Feel free to send some music this way bu I warn you, my Ipod now has over 3000 songs, 10 days worth.

Need the gods to.....

Cut me a frackin break.

I had to take off work again today due to Bat Mite stating that she was feeling lightheaded and not feeling good at all. Now I took off early last Friday cause a call from the school with the same symptoms sent me rushing over only to have her fine by like 3. Hell Contagion and baby Jesus saw her run out of the house to her mother on Friday night and nothing all weekend long. But this morning back to the symptoms. So again her mother cant take off so I stay home and by like 1 she is fine again.

Now I have 2 reasons for this behavior:

1. Something is going on at school that she dosent want to tell me

2. There is truly something wrong.

So I take her into the dr. Now of course they listen for about 2 seconds and then say that it is stress, a little bug, or just her acting out.

Either 3 of those is not acceptable. SO we have a heart to heart tonight with ALOT of tears on both sides and it comes do to her trying to adjust to having 2 households with different parenting styles at both.

Me more active and strict but also liberal with the rules when it is necessary.
Her mother less active and not really there for rules except for when it hinders her or makes her look in a bad light to others.

After our talk BatMite seems to be back on track but it made me wonder. Would it have been good to just stay together for her sake and live like a roomate or was it the best to split?

Just waiting for the gods to cut me a break just once with all they have been throwing at me lately and allow my family, friends, and myself a moment of peace.

God a change of scenery is looking better and better with each passing day.

Kinda Cool

"By The Power Of GreySkull!"

Contagin and I were talking about this the other day. The lack of good movies that arent just churnred out by the studios.

From MSN.com

The buddy-cop comedy "Hot Fuzz," released by Focus Features' Rogue Pictures unit, had a strong start in narrower release, premiering at No. 6 with $5.8 million in 825 theaters, about a third the number of cinemas where "Fracture" and "Vacancy" played.

"Hot Fuzz" comes from the "Shaun of the Dead" team of director Edgar Wright and his co-writer and star Simon Pegg, who plays a London super-cop exiled to a sleepy British town, where he encounters a series of grisly deaths.

Damn glad to see that even in a limited release people want to see good movies instead of the frackkin swill that is dolled out time and time again.

Norm Quotes from "Cheers"

SAM: "What's new, Normie?"

NORM: "Terrorists, Sam. They've taken over my stomach & they're demanding beer."

SAM: "What'd you like, Normie?"NORM: "A reason to live. Give me another beer."

SAM: "What'll you have Normie?"NORM: "Well, I'm in a gambling mood, Sammy. I'll take a glass of whatever comes out of that tap."SAM: "Looks like beer, Norm."NORM: "Call me Mister Lucky."

WOODY: "What's the story, Mr. Peterson?"NORM: "The Bobbsey twins go to the brewery. Let's cut to the happy ending."

WOODY: "Hey, Mr. Peterson, there's a cold one waiting for you."NORM: "I know. If she calls, I'm not here."

SAM: "Beer, Norm?"NORM: "Have I gotten that predictable? Good."
WOODY: "How's it going, Mr. Peterson?"NORM: "Poor."WOODY: "I'm sorry to hear that."NORM: "No, I mean pour."

SAM: "What's going down, Normie?"NORM: "My butt cheeks on that bar stool."
WOODY: "Pour you a beer, Mr. Peterson?"NORM: "All right, but stop me at one. Make that one-thirty."

SAM: "What's the story, Norm?"NORM: "Boy meets beer. Boy drinks beer. Boy meets another beer."

WOODY: "What's going on, Mr. Peterson?"NORM: "The question is what's going in Mr. Peterson? A beer please, Woody."

And the best one of the bunch:

WOODY: "Can I pour you a beer, Mr. Peterson?"NORM: "A little early isn't it, Woody?"WOODY: "For a beer?"NORM: "No, for stupid questions."

Midget Fighting

..just the post title will get you hooked!

Friday night I had the dubious honor of attending with Contagion and Baby Jesus the local "ToughMan" competition at our local arena of suck.

Now I use the term "ToughMan" VERY loosly. I have to room to talk cause the Bat Physique is no where what is was.

But the highlight of the evening was Midget Kickboxing between BeetleJuice form the Howard Stern show and the Midwest Fighting Champion Big Poppa.

BEST TIME EVER

We even had Big Poppa come by and talk for a few.

Here is what Beetle looks like but I couldnt find one of Big Poppa. Elusive little bastard.

Now I dont know what is more disturbing....the fact that I have an obsession with little people or that Contagion does also!!

Thanks To My BlogStump

I Now Have A Sidebar.

Now shut the frack up.

Damn Good TImes

Last night Contagion and a few of us went to the local indoor football game and once again a good time.

The highlight of the evening, aside from an Ass Kicking that was given to the BlueCats, was that after the game we went to a local establishment and was able to talk to a few of the players and coaches.

I love it when you can take away all of the PC crap that is usually spewed out and actually talk to a player about the good and bad plays of the evening.

The highlight of the evening was watching Contagion play with his new toy. He had the look of a proud poppa whose child could do no wrong.

It was wrong.

I Love New Toys

A week or so ago I chucked caution to the wind and rather than get transportation that would have made ALL the people around me very happy, I bought a new toy.

Now as you get older the toys you desire get more expensive more elaborate. Some men can be happy with sticks and rocks but not this man.

Now I love music. I cannot have a quiet moment. I have it on when I go to sleep, in the shower, before I go to work, on my way to work, at work, on my way home from work, while cooking, while eating, while taking constitutionals, and back to before I go to sleep.

I like all kinds of music and love finding bands before they hit it big. My past accomplishments have been Alice In Chains, Nirvana (Bleach is still their best), The Killers, Thunder (happened at the beginning of the 90's...good bar band) and so on.

So i have a TON of CD's mainly music downloaded and put on mix cds.

The shared Bat Computer is pooping out more MP3's then Napster ever thought.

SO I have been looking a little at MP3 players. Now past ones have been full of suck so I never put much thought into is. Just shuffled CD's from point A to B.

The 2 I have been looking at were the Zune by Microsoft (shout out to Big Bill) and of course the IPod. Now I traditionally dont like Apple stuff but started out my lacking computer skills on an Apple 2GS. The Zune just didnt have alot of the features or support. SO I went to the crossroads and made a deal with the devil.

I bought an IPod.

AND I FRACKING LOVE IT!!!!

I dont know how I lived this long without it. I have ALL my music in one place and no more lugging CD's everywhere.
I make my own playlists based on my mood.
In the mood for Evil, heavy rock? No prob. Kinda in a mello mood? No prob. Oldies...yup you guessed it. NO PROB.

Now if I could just find a cheap car!

Zombies Baby!!!

I knew that it had been announced but didnt know that it was filiming!

My buddy Contagion will LOVE this. Babylon Fields the upcoming zombie horror series that will be airing on CBS is filming now.

Here is what one of the undead will look like.

The Plot Outline "The dead return to earth in an attempt to restore old wounds."

Huh???

Now I want good old fashion Romero Zombies. They are here for 1 and one thing only. TO EAT YOU!!!!!!

Now one plus is that it has one of my favorite actors in it. Jamey Sheridan whom if you are a Stephen King Fan will know he played Flagg in the TV movie version of the Stand which to the Shining Remake and It was the most faithful version of a King book.

Will this work? Who knows. Zombies are becoming part of popular culture again and TV sometimes needs a shakeup. (anyone remember AutoMan?)

About........Me?

Well I guess I threw caution to the wind and violated a Blog rule.....I didnt have a blog about.....Me!

I am 30 something separated for about 3 years from a woman that gave me the best thing to happen in my life. Bat Mite!

I like long walks on the beach and enjoy a good tequila. I have lived in so many places across the US, San Diego, Missouri, and Pittsburgh where my taste for good football was refined over a case of Iron City Beer!

It also is my life passion to visit the magical Loch across the pond one day.

OK that is me. Many facets and only one body!

One More Today

Now I try not to force my views or bore people with my views on politics or my logic but when I saw this today I had to say something.

There are a group of movies by horror indie filmmakers call "Film's To Die For" and some of them look pretty cool.

Now I love horror movies alot and like my friend Contagion even the cheesy Zombie ones. I thought the Devils Rejects was an awesome film and Last House On the Left is a classic. And the Die For films looked kinda cool and a good way for a first time filmmaker to get their work out to a mass audience.

But I also have a 10 year going on 20 year old daughter that most of these movies are off limits for. She, like me at her age, can sneak them or watch them on late night tv. I wont be having a movie night with these for the 2 of us.

Now for one of the films they had a billboard on a busy freeway for everyone to see in 2 major cities that I know of.

Now like I said I like these kind of movies........

But I dont want my 10 year old or anyone else who has younger children to have to explain what is happening in the picture above. These are images I will try to keep form my little one as long as possible.

Do they have a right to put these out? YES! And I will prolly see a few of these but keep this away from our children.

There is a blog that has more info on a movement to keep this kind of thing in check. Check it out if you want and definitely feel free to link away.

I am not for censorship but there is a line that cannot be crossed when it come to my child.

All You Trekkies

Will get a kick out of this!

I found it on Aint It Cool's Website under the heading of JJ Abrams (the Lost guy) new reworking of the franchise.
